Kandireega Movie Review

Kandireega Movie Rating : 3.75 / 5

INTRO:
The last time Ram and Hansika got together for Maska, the viewers embraced them with open arms. In fact, it placed the protagonist in the top league and helped the fair-complexioned lady get recognized in the Kollywood. Success didn’t smile upon the two later in their individual efforts. Hence, they are coming back with vigor inKandireega hoping to revive their career in Tollywood. What’s in store for them… let’s see!
PERFORMANCES:
True to the moniker – ‘Energetic Star’ that Ram has been honored with in the film titles, he makes a power-packed entry. He is fabulous as Srinu and excelled in all the respective departments of acting – dance, fights, comedy, performance, romance and sentiment. I must say, this is the second best film of Ram after Ready, helmed by Srinu Vaitla. Thumbs-up to the energetic star! Worth mentioning next is Aksha (not Haniska, in my opinion) for her mind-blowing performance. She stole the show with her Telangana accent, thanks to the dubbing artiste for her stupendous job. Aksha is definitely one of the highlights in the second-half.
Moving on to main heroine Hansika, I somehow found her up to the standards. As Sruthi, she is okay but, needs to work on her physique and shed a few kilos to appeal to the viewers. Bad guy Sonu Sood is an eye-candy to watch. He reminds us of the earlier role of comic villain that he essayed in Ek Niranjan. Not to wonder if I state that he is the real hero of the film and drew huge applause from the viewers for his astounding act. Kudos to him!
Jayaprakash Reddy as Warangal don did what is told to. However, the act-two saw him ruling the roost with his humor. Srinivas Reddy puts up a fantastic show through his timing. Brahmaji as a software engineer who resigns his job was good, which enabled adding to the comedy elements. Brahmanandam on the contrary was just decent. Chandramohan as Ram’s father is adequate.
TECHNICAL ANALYSIS:
Music director Thaman proved himself yet again as a safe hand to incorporate in a project. He excelled in scoring background, while the musical renditions in the film are a delight to the masses. Narrative is passable, though predictable. A routine, tried-and tested –formula it is, the story nonetheless comes as a decent package. Dialogues are enjoyable and cinematography is of high-quality. Debutante director Santosh Srinivas seems to have studied and imbibed the pulse of the audiences and that of the formulaic cinema, thus offering a nice package in his maiden endeavor. Almost all the crafts are lovely.
PLUS-POINTS:
Cinematography
Music
Packaging
Comedy
Humor elements in acto-two
Sonu Sood, Aksha & Ram’s performances
Dialogues
Screenplay in second-half
MINUS-POINTS:
Conventional plot
Predictable screenplay
Excessive dose of action in first-half
Resemblance to Ready & Maska
ANALYSIS:
Like NTR’s BrindavanamKandireega is a pucca formula flick hitting the screens in the recent times. It evidently is inspired from certain movies like ReadyNuvvu Naku Nachchav and Maska, but credit goes to the director for presenting it so well. While the pre-interval episode is foreseeable yet pleasurable, the post-interval act is a laughter riot and depicts a couple of implausible show by Sonu Sood, Aksha and the gang of comedians. The film really has nothing new to offer but weaves magic on screen, enticing you to loot the fun.
The dialogues penned by the director were superb, especially in the second-half. Indubitably, confusion comedy has created wonders in Tollywood, which was cashed in on by Santosh Srinivas. Post Ready, this is the aesthetically picturized flick that portrayed comedy of errors in an influential manner. Sonu Sood is focal point and so is Aksha who in fact is a surprising element with her performance. A great pastime, Kandireega is for all sections of audiences, leaving aside a few dull moments in the act-one.
VERDICT:
With all the required commercial factors assimilated, Kandireega is a routine formula pic, which meets the expectations of all the class and mass movie-lovers. Molded really well, it comes as a teasing package. It’s one of the best family entertainers released in the recent past, provided you don’t strain your nerves to understand the logic behind the scenes. Sonu Sood and Aksha play the attention-grabbers of all the cast. You won’t be disappointed but overjoyed!
MY WORD:
A formulaic film, Kandireega is hilarious visual delight!
